Jonathan Haggerty successfully defended his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title with a unanimous decision victory over Yuki Yoza at ONE Samurai 1, held at the Ariake Arena.
Haggerty controlled much of the contest through sustained output and movement. The British fighter, known as “The General,” implemented a tactical approach built on frequent stance switches and lateral angles, limiting Yoza’s ability to establish consistent offense.
Yoza entered the bout on a three-fight winning streak in ONE Championship, including a notable victory over Superlek Kiatmoo9. He had moments of success but was largely outworked across the rounds as Haggerty maintained a higher volume of strikes.
After five rounds, the judges awarded Haggerty a unanimous decision, marking another successful title defence.
The win continues a strong run for Haggerty, who first claimed the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title on 4 November 2023 with a second-round knockout of Fabricio Andrade at ONE Fight Night 16. He later defended the title on 20 February 2025 with a decision victory over Wei Rui at ONE 171: Qatar.
This latest result brings Haggerty’s total to six ONE Championship world titles, three in kickboxing and three in Muay Thai, further establishing his position within the organisation’s striking divisions.
