Barbara Aguiar Makes History as First Non-Thai Woman to Win Rajadamnern Stadium Title

Published:

Brazil's Barbara Aguiar etched her name into the history books today by defeating Estonia’s Marie Ruumet to claim the vacant Rajadamnern Stadium Female Bantamweight Title. Aguiar's victory marks the first time a non-Thai woman has ever secured this prestigious title.

Aguiar showcased a dominant clinch game throughout the five-round contest, securing the win by a unanimous decision from the judges.

This victory not only avenges Aguiar’s previous loss to Ruumet on August 17th, 2024, on Rajadamnern World Series 102 but also solidifies her status as one of the best female athletes in Muay Thai today.

The win adds to an already impressive resume for Aguiar, who claimed the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) Bantamweight 2024 Tournament Title in December. She is also a former WBC Muay Thai Bantamweight World Champion, showcasing her ability to perform at the highest level across multiple promotions.
